Levante Chiropractic FAQ
What Can I Expect on The First Chiropractic Visit?
Your first visit will include brief paperwork, a spinal exam and alignment scan, and a chiropractic adjustment. The first visit usually takes less then 45 minutes and follow-up visits last about 15-20 minutes.
Do You Take Insurance?
We are in-network with several insurance plans, and we accept Medicare.
If you have medical insurance, we will verify your chiropractic benefits at no charge. Then, we’ll discuss your covered benefits, including your deductible, with you on your second visit, once your benefits have been verified.
What Techniques Do You Use?
Dr. Mindy has been adjusting chiropractic patients for over 18 years, and uses a combination of manual (‘pop’) and instrument (‘no pop’) techniques. She will discuss your comfort with adjustment techniques prior to any treatment, and will tailor your spinal adjustment accordingly.
What Causes Spinal Misalignment?
The recipe for spinal misalignment is total daily stress plus “weak links”- meaning places in the spine or other joints that have been injured in the past. When spinal misalignment occurs, it leads to whole body imbalance.
Common daily stresses include:
- Prolonged periods of sitting
- Not sleeping well
- Lots of phone time
- Inflammatory foods and drinks
- Having a lot on your mind- this creates muscle tension in the body.
The a chiropractic adjustment acts as a ‘reset’ button that aligns your joints and takes tension out of the muscles and nervous system. This often improves pain, and helps your whole body generally feel better.
How Long Do I Need To Come for Adjustments?
Everyone has a unique history of past injuries, combined with a personal level of daily stresses that lead to spinal misalignment.
This makes it necessary to evaluate the need for chiropractic care on a case by case basis.
After your first visit, Dr. Mindy will make recommendations for treatment based on your examination findings and your response to the first adjustment.
Most acute conditions (“pinched nerves”) respond well within the first few adjustments (relief care), but you’ll also be given the option to continue preventive maintenance care if you wish.
